About The Counseling Block

A neurodiversity-affirming practice built from the school counselor's chair — with a clear-eyed view of what families and counselors actually need.

Ms. Nay

School Counselor & Consultant

The Counseling Block began in a real K–12 office, with real students walking in needing real support. After years of building rapport with kids, advocating for IEPs, and watching families get lost in the paperwork, we opened up a second door — one outside the traditional school setting.

Today we work with parents, guardians, and high school students who need tailored guidance, with a special focus on neurodivergent learners navigating IEPs, 504s, and the long road to college. We also support fellow school counselors with PD, AI playbooks, and ready-to-use resources so they can spend more time with students and less time at the copier.

Our work is rooted in three beliefs: families deserve plain language, students deserve to be heard, and counselors deserve real tools.

What clients say

"Our IEP meeting felt completely different — for the first time, I knew what to ask for. The follow-up notes were a lifesaver."
